Staff Appreciation Fund – Meals Program

The purpose of the Canmore and Area Health Care Foundation “thank-you” meals’ fundraiser is to provide a way for the Bow Valley community to thank all the frontline workers at the Canmore General Hospital (i.e., approximately 130 individuals, including medical professionals, cleaning, laundry, and maintenance staff), while also giving support to local, independent Canmore restaurants, which have supported the community during this difficult time.

Our short-term objective is to raise funds over the next three weeks to cover a one-time “thank-you” meal for all the hospital staff.

Our mid- to long-term target is to raise a total of $15,000 to be able to provide subsequent (weekly or monthly) meals to the hospital staff over the summer months.

This program will be volunteer-run and led by Rob Jennings — Canmore resident and grateful-patient. Volunteers will assist in delivering the meals from a number of local restaurants to the Hospital, and the Hospital Administration will organize the meals for each of the staff, depending on any dietary restrictions.

Staff Appreciation Fund – Meals Program Donations 

Please find below the different ways you can make a donation to the Canmore and Area Health Care Foundation in support of the Canmore General Hospital’s Staff Appreciation Fund.

1.      Online Donations

  • Click the ‘donate’ button to complete our online donation form.

  • Select option number 16. Staff Appreciation Fund in the dropdown fund menu, under donation details.

  • Please also indicate that your donation is towards the Staff Appreciation Fund – Meals Program – in the message section. Thank you.

  • Your tax receipt will be issued instantly by CanadaHelps and sent to the email address you provide.

2.      Cheque Donations

  • Please write the cheque to the Canmore & Area Health Care Foundation, 1100 Hospital Place, Canmore, AB, T1W 1N2.

  • Please indicate that your donation is towards the Staff Appreciation Fund – Meals Program – in the memo section of your cheque. Thank you.

  • Your tax receipt will be mailed via the Foundation.

3.      Cash Donations

  • Please mail the cash envelope to Canmore & Area Health Care Foundation, 1100 Hospital Place, Canmore, AB, T1W 1N2.

  • Please indicate that your donation is towards the Staff Appreciation Fund – Meals Program in a note. Thank you.

  • Please include your name and address so we can mail you a tax receipt.

  • Your tax receipt will be mailed via the Foundation.

4.      Telephone Donations

  • You can call Soulafa Al-Abbasi, Foundation Executive Director, at 1 (403) 678-4358 and she will be able to process a credit-card donation over the ‘phone. Thank you.

  • Please indicate that your donation is towards the Staff Appreciation Fund – Meals Program. Thank you.
